I have sold many brands and models of digital recorders, this time I have tried many recorders. I would say that the Olympus DS-30 digital voice recorder is one of the well-rounded voice recorder is so far the design and the features it offers for the price. I like the Olympus DS-30, so I do a lot of my recordings for dictation and personal.
I use this recorder to dictate a daily diary audio recording memos and meetings registration. RegistrationMemo works great, because the compact design of the DS-30, I can easily carry around in my pocket and I hardly notice its even there, and if I need to record a short summary or an idea is always with me!
I was very pleased with the capabilities of the DS-30 to note struck in environments where a large group of people. I used the recorder in many of my church meetings, I was in a meeting room equipped with at least 200 people, including children and infants. I just setRecord in the conference, with the low-cut filter on and then when I play I started playing with noise suppression. When I play back recordings of the meetings of the church are very pleased with how clearly I can hear the speakers impressed despite all the noise back and the conditions of poor reception!

The DS-30 recorder also comes with a USB cable that you can easily transfer files to your computer, the computer automatically detects when you connect! A removable external microphone (ME-53) comes with the DS-30, which enables higher quality stereo recording. Aesthetically, the DS-30 looks like an elegant, stylish and compact. You can also load some favorite MP3 music files and play again.
Against
Believe it or not, I found a couple ofDisadvantages for the DS-30. It records in WMA format, which can be a bit 'of headaches for people with a Mac, as they can be played only on a Mac if you get the Windows Media Player for Mac software that comes with the DSS recorder has a function to convert audio files into another format. So you are stuck with WMA files when you download or purchase third party program audio conversion.
I was not impressed with the overall quality of the MP3 audio playback, if you're looking fora recorder, a better quality of MP3 playback, I would consider is the Olympus WS-Series. The WAS series has an equalizer and SRS WOW technology for enhanced playback.
The DS-30 has a good amount of memory, 256 Mbps, which is sufficient for most people, but too short for many users. The DS-30 offers an incredible 67 hours of recording time, but those of the lowest quality possible so that I never use (the quality is terrible) and consumes only 4 hours in high qualityMode. For those who want to record a long time in high quality mode, I recommend the Olympus DS-40 or DS-50, which is basically the same recorder, but with more memory.
